Hoyabusa returns to Doune

A few of you were aware of where Lawrence's car had gone and it was with mixed emotions that I returned the car to Doune for it's first Hillclimb in 5 years.
It was my first ever hill, so nervous was probably a bit of an understatement when I ran up the wet hill for the first time on Saturday.
I took it sensibly on each of the runs, being described as pedestrian, which was probably not far off the mark.
A couple of viewings of the man at work on Saturday evening from 2006

and I felt more confident for Sunday morning.
Started on a 55 and finished on a 50, not the fastest but more than content with that for my first visit.
I was over whelmed by the number of people that came and spoke to me about the car and their fond memories of Lawrence driving it at Doune.
A few people mentioned that they were on here, it was good to speak with you, sorry I am terrible at remembering names.
I intend to keep a record of events that I do in the car and would be delighted to hear from anybody that has pictures of the car over the weekend.
FD, thanks for the ones that you sent me, screen saver has been changed.
For those of you that stay in touch with Katrina I visited her on Monday to let her know that the car had returned "home".
She was in good spirits and we both agreed that there would be a cheeky wee grin looking down as I made a mess of trying to get 2nd gear each time I came into East Brae.
Next events for me are the 12th/13th May at Harewood followed by the British round at Doune in June.
Hopefully see some of you at Harewood or Doune
Cheers
Stuart
