I was googling Guy Salmon for you, and this is what it now redirects to.

Dont see any hire specialist wanting you putting 800 miles on more specialist machinery if you know what I mean, so best to get something with no limit.

Boxster for a couple of days was £376 inc vat pick-up from Edinburgh, but they have other locations. Are other options also but that seemed the best car vs ££.

With the prestige hire cars, do you get what you actually booked, or a similar classed car like regular rentals?

Last time I hired a car (not prestige) I opted for an Alfa Giulietta and got a Pug 3008..

I can just imagine you hiring a Boxter and getting a Chrysler Crossfire Auto or something

'98 Lotus Elise - Fun day car
'04 Maserati Coupe GT - Manual, v8, Italian...
'18 Mazda Mx5 - The wife's, so naturally my daily
'19 Ducati Monster 797 - Baby bike bike

I will need to look into it, but yes, it might.

Just something I am thinking of.

Well Ian, you're certainly a better driver than a passenger if our last outing is anything to go by (greener than a lawn full of cabbages!) :damnfunny

Wonky speedo drive is a surprisingly common Caterham problem, especially on rental cars, usually loose already.

Is there money to be made out of ragtop rentals? ( should copyright the name think)

Early S2000's would look a good bet but guessing insurance would be stoating.

I'm still trying to figure out something interesting to do with a pension I can't touch for anouther 30 years

Couldnt you just buy insurance by the day? I looked into it it with the 205 to work out if it was cheaper for the odd trackday than a years policy or a trailer. Sure it was only £30 a day and there were no real driver details required like with a normal policy. Just cant remember which site I found it on.
