Has anyone tried / got one of the 3 kinds of breathalysers from Halfords?

They are called AlcoSense
Priced at £24.99, £34.99 & £59.99 from Halfords

http://www.alcosense.co.uk/reviews.html

I fancy getting one - for the morning after.. just to be sure.

Was about to post if you think you are, you probably are. But agree with the morning after as you really don't know IMO.

But the other side of the coin is:
You think you're ok, but you're probably not. ...

Work it out yourself- x pints takes y long to get out of your system. It's as fallible as the toy alchometer which will give you no defence at the side of the road when you blow red. If in doubt, get a taxi - a far better way to spend £25.

I think you'd have to be pretty cautious though, I mean if you blow borderline on one of these toys, I'd be concerned that it's under-reading and you're still over.

Save some money (and maybe your licence?) and don't drink as much the day before you need to go to work!

I was thinking about buying one. But in the end I have decided just to pay for trains and taxis because I just could afford to loose my license being out in the sticks.

Reviewed here on 5th Gear

Some are complete rubbish, some are ok but I am still not sure I would trust my license with them.

Excellent - that wee clip is what i wanted to see.

The £59.99 one (top of the range Alcosense one) gave the same reading as the Police one.

Cheers

After saying I wouldn't I reserved one in halfrods. In true fashion when I got to Arbroath they said they didnt have any stock even though it was reserved, shower of sh........

Anyway i got got one in Aberdeen. Had my works night out last night and think I had about ten bottles between 6 an 11 but more at the start less later.

Up at 8.00 this morning to run back to house at 9.00 and breathalysed myself and it was clear reading said 'lo'. FI have to assume its right but I still feel boozy.

I wouldn't have driven today but it's saying fine.

Out tonight again so will see what it says tomorrow.

I went for the alcosense elite as well.

I had a skinful last night. First thing this morning it said I was over, then 1 hour later it said don't drive but technically legal now it is saying I am clear.

I don't feel fit to drive. Maybe tiredness?

My wife tried it and it said she is still 'hi' which is more than twice the legal limit.
