Gareth, stop looking at the classifieds and take the Elise out for a blast. Remind yourself why you bought one

TBH i'd buy the S2

i prefer the look of the new model and although the exige is obvioulsy far superior performance wise. top speed isn't everything as most of the time you'll be driving at a fairly normal speed and the S2 is far more striking (even tho the exige is look at me yellow!) IMHO.

i also like the soft top factor too - nothing like the wind slapping against my shaven napper on a nice sunny day

for me i'd get the newer car rather than the faster car

It depends on usage too. The Exige is not really a daily drive. The S2 looks stunning imo especially in black (my fave colour on the s2!) and it'll hold more in terms of reliability and drivability.
So...S2 if its a daily drive your after or Exige only if your after a weekend dream machine.

Don't believe the hype I use my S1 Exige most days as dailly transport and have no problem at all, except for all the people waving and taking piccies. They are not as hot inside as made out and although it is noisy it is not overly so.

S1 Exige over S2 IMO.
S1 just looks like a racecar for the road. The S2 doesn't look different enough from an Elise.

I hear ya Basil however im going from reports from my friend who owns an S1 Exige AND previously owned a Type 23 S2. Im tellin ya we're cooked turkeys inside the cabin of that thing hehe and we can barely hear each other talking its so noisy. But he does have some funny race spec thingybob stage 3 exhaust thingy and the 190 upgrade. It still rocks tho
