The lesser spotted yellow beastie, after 3 years off the road is finally back on the road, well I say finally back, it is. It needs a bit more work

Mapping needs finalised but it's gone from this
Image

To this
Image

To a bit of this
Image

To then doing this
Image

And this
Image

Taking this out
Image

Getting these sorted out
Image

To turn out like this:
Image

Sticking a LSD in here
Image

To help cope with this

Image

Also added one of these
Image

Which is plumbed into this up front
Image

So strapped it all together and redid the cam
Cover
Image

Didnt like the look of this:
Image

So got some tasty intake bits (70mm TB and a straight inlet)
Image
Image

Chucked all the bodywork back on
Image

Drove it out (with a tear in my eye)
Image

Hmm it's low, of what's that fluid, ah well the driveshafts are coming out again.

Been a long hard (never mind expensive) road, gotta
Sort the gearbox oil leak and get it mapped, there's loads of stuff I haven't photographed such as EP 4 pots, Ap295's all round, GT uprights charge cooler pump etc etc

Anyway it will all be worth it, right :damnfunny special thanks to
Alan who has helped so much :)

Cheers

Stunning 8) Would love to do the jackson charger on mine. Hoping my stop smoking tin will pay for it in a year or so. What exhaust manifold are you using? And is it the dc5 intake?

It's the sinclaires/Essex 4-1
Image

Yeah it's a DC5 charger with clockwise motion 70mm tb and its a clockwise inlet (test piece) as need to see if it makes any decent gains, I can't believe it won't tbh
compare this

With this an tell it won't make more power, that's the actual charger internals you can see.

Been browsing for parts to get an idea if costs. Seen a few 2nd hand set ups for sale but its usually rotrex. But cant seem to find 4-1 manifolds anywhere. An idea of where you got the bits and how much they cost would be good. Not wanting massive power 280 should be enough and read I might struggle with clearance issues using the dc5 set up with my conversion.

Yep stark. Been looking at that guys conversion. Not convinced with the tight fit. He says he's still running the 4-2-1 manifold but I thought this was a no no. Reading about the subject on seloc leaves me even more confused than when i started. Everyone says theirs is best and the other ones are rubbish.

I think the manifold type has been blown out of all
Proportion, use the one you have and see what power it makes, sure it might be a few horse down over the optimum
Solution but at the end of the day does it really matter?!

If only it was that simple

It's got a 3.2" pulley and 630cc Siemens Injectors, and idles absolutely perfectly btw :)

Looks lovely and well worth the wait. So looks like you might make it up to mine?

Mike I have a JRSC with DC5 manifold and even a spare gasket for cooler if your interested? :D

Hopefully, be pulling the driveshafts out again ( for about the third time, the Ns has been rebuilt twice already, I can source leak easily then yeah assuming it's mapped :)

If you want make a deal for an unused 205 gti6 track car then maybe  Still think I might need to go down the ep3 route though. Need to speak to an expert.

heard of a few honda cars (including mine when i first had it converted) leaking gearbox oil as the inner cv pulled out of the gearbox. Its not enough to lose drive, but it causes it to leak. The fix for sinclaires (and fitted by stu pollock, thanks stu) was to fit a slightly larger diameter circlip to the inner end of the driveshaft. Hope thats all it is as its an easy fix, just check if the inner cv is fully home or if its popped out.

P.s. Car looks sweet

Which side do you know? When you say circlip to you mean split ring, the ring on the splined shaft that goes into the actual gearbox?
