Chaps/ladies, can I ask a favour?
if you're sitting near a glass of something, can I request that you raise it to the memory of my Dad, who passed away on this day one year ago. Quite scary how quickly a year passes.
Just to provide some perspective to some of the pedantry that's been on display in this forum recently - there are more important things in life.
Cheers all - sorry for the indulgence.

Raised my cup in honour of your Dad, was two years on Sunday since my Mum passed away, and I can't believe how quickly it has passed.
I have made sure that Skye and I don't put things off as you never know what the future holds. Last year we did our month long tour around Europe on my motorbike, which had long been a dream of mine. This year we made it to Florida to make Skye's dreams come true, including swimming with dolphins.

Thinking of you shug, it's strange how life goes on but he is not forgotten.

Happy to Shug, in fact I have a glass of Laphroaig in my hand at this moment.
I lost my dad sixty years ago this year, but no comparison to yours.
Cheers

I'll raise one with my reheated chilli, Shug, once the terrors are abed and peace has broken out again! Might even dig out something single and malt. As it happens it's my Dad's birthday today. I am glad I spoke to him, now that you mention this.

Thanks all
Actually a Laphroaig quarter cask I'm supping just now actually.
Have a pleasant image of him looking down a bit bemused at what all these strangers on the internet are toasting.

Shug - a great reminder for us all. Hope you're remembering the good moments over that malt.
My mum's 70th today and whilst she drives us all nuts, pulling together photos for a party from the last 40 odd years has made me realise we will miss the old codgers when they're gone.
