Back to talk about muppets again.
Sorry but I really think it’s about time people had a look at what they are doing and their actions before someone gets injured or worse.
I like many on SE have been put of going on Road runs for a couple of years now. Yes I’ve had my share of accidents and a couple on road runs, but I have never “played in traffic”.
This is one member of SE who is one of the worse drivers I have ever seen ever and driving a car that need respected.
What happened on sweeping up the leaves on Saturday was very unfortunate and their actions have to be looked at. I wasn’t there and only heard from people that were, but this persons actions are really not acceptable.
This person did a few fly byes on a run down to Knockhill and managed to stuff his car off a duel carriage way almost taking out 2 SE members.
They really need to have a think about what you are doing and the consequences of your actions.
Mods I hope you understand why I have posted this, I have already talked to this person about there actions and its made no difference.

From a Mods POV, if you've posted this here, I take it it's because you've had no joy face-to-face. That's a shame.
We don't like a policy of naming and shaming, but similarly we do have to maintain some sort of standard of expected behaviour on road runs, so if it takes a post to try and address it, so be it.

Re: Back to talk about muppets again.
Have to agree with you Scott. Road runs carry a lot of risk and was something I was always very wary about. Although it's alot of fun meeting up with a large group of fellow Loti owners and going for a blast, my view is that the runs themselves are best kept to very small numbers, i.e 2 - 3 cars max. From comments previously posted on Scottish Elises, I've got the impression there are now a good few people on here who avoid runs and probably for the very reason you are talking about. I know myself I've bailed out on a few, and while very tempted to go, sometimes just got a bit of a bad feeling about it and opted to go for a blast on my own.

Spot on Scotty. Needed to be said. Just hope it's taken on board.
Re: Back to talk about muppets again.
Don't really know what happened, and (like others I suppose) am drawing some conclusions from both threads.
Can I just confirm there were no injuries, other than some bruised egos, angered followers, and potentially broken fibre glass?

Re: Back to talk about muppets again.
I organised a run where someone ended up in a field. I felt pretty bad/responsable for the whole thing as I seen it coming and actually ended up backing off and doing my own thing.
I won't go on big runs anymore, only small ones with people I know. Which is a shame as i've met some nice people, but can't see anyway of making them safe so will stay well clear.
On Scotty's post.
I agree with you, he's not the best of drivers and makes some stupid mistakes. (whizzing by me doing donughts on the motorway comes to mind) but ... I don't think it's fair to name and shame/black ball him. He contributes a lot more than people realise, i.e. think he put in £1000 in the AMP3 auctions ? and the comedy value
This doesn't make his anticts on the road right or acceptable. Can we not offer him some guidance, there is a lot of handy people on here who could probably offer some assistance. He's so scared of driving it on track, incase he gets in someones way or crahses into them. If he had one of us in the passabger seat, it might help ???
I don't agree with 90% of his actions but there must be a better way to deal with it than this ?

i for one "WILL NOT SIT NEXT TO HIM" . He has had lessons at Knockhill. I have had words with him in the past and its made no difference. IF what happened had happened to me last saturday. then there would have been police involved.
I have no time for someone who knows his limits and does nothing about them, he IS putting peoples lives at risk.
Sorry but within the SE he has given nothing but comical posts.

Just to be clear, I'm agreeing with you. Something has to be done before someone gets hurt but trying to avoid pitch forks with flamming torches "Burn the Plumber"Scotty C wrote:i for one "WILL NOT SIT NEXT TO HIM" . Re: Back to talk about muppets again.
It happens all the time though; not just on road runs; I've seen a few moments first hand when I've been mooching about in the jeep and had said individual come flying past at completely inappropriate places. The point there is that it's not just like he's showing off in front of SE-ers, it's just how he drives.
There's another SE member who is lucky not to have had a visit from the Police last week.
A colleague encountered the member driving 'dangerously' and she had to take evasive action; she wasn't impressed as had her kids in the car. If it was me, I'd have been straight to the coppers.

Re: Back to talk about muppets again.
Before I had finished reading this post ??, Mags spouted the correct name out right away....
. ITS one thing going quick, its where you do it and whats around you thats important.
Having been done for Dangerious Driving ( although at no point was the car out of control or anyone else involved in my 90 second outburst as stated by the coart it was on the lesser degree of DD) ie for pure speed 109 mph in a 60 and having been banned for a year and doing a resit you would think some folk on here would at least take on board what happened to me in an Elise.
TBO my thoughts over the last year ,are if the police were to follow most road runs on SE some driver's would have the book flung at them for DD in some way or other... Its up to you all of you to moderate your driving as required by the High Way Code and nothing else.
I should know, I'm paying someone to ram that message home to me right now to get through my test:!:
Stay safe out there folks

I know very well what his input is to SE etc, and it's all massively appreciated. It's not at all pertinent to this issue though and my understanding is that Scotty has tried to handle it for some time off the forum and it's come to this. If there is a way to deal with it in person, please mate, do it.Gourlay83 wrote:I organised a run where someone ended up in a field. TBH, I don't want to sound like i'm defending him and will have a chat. I spoke to him yesterday at lunchtime, he felt terrible because someone had to avoid him and believe the message is sinking in. Hope it does before he hurts someone.Shug wrote:I know very well what his input is to SE etc, and it's all massively appreciated.
