Hole in the road!

I went over a hole in the road last night outside my house. No damage to the car but it felt deep. Got up this morning and had a look at it. It's about 12"s across but so deep that you cant see the bottom.
I called the roads department and they arrived in 10 mins. Guy stuck a pole in it and it disappeared completely!
So I'm now convinced it's a sectret tunnel!
But where to??????

When I lived in Manchester I got up one day (About midday, I was a student!) and was suprised to see an old Gold Merc with it's nose into a hole in the road. The hole was 10ft by 6ft by 5ft deep!
Apparently what had happene was a water leak had washed away the soil and rocks underneith but the cobbles and tarmac had held for years, until a heavy merc came along....

Where they keep the secret stash of Road Tax money that should be spent maintaining them in the first place?
FWIW, you probably have knocked the geo out a wee bit. Next motorway drive, make sure it's tracking straight....

Maybe the tunnel goes to Pole-and?.........
On the subject of the roads dept, I have a lot of love for Inverclyde Councils Roads dept today - our kerb is pretty high into the drive, so much so I cant reverse out without removing my plate and the v6 scrapes - called them yesterday, guy came out last night, phonecall today and they are relaying part of the road this week.
Amazing stuff.

Hi Kenny, it's on Armadale Street - between Alexander Parade and Duke St.
It's now coned off. It could have been Stan Petrov digging an escape route from Parkhead.

I used to have maps showing the old railway tunnels, I know there are some in that area, could be one of them.

Troll once - you get caught (and you will as everything resolves to IP's) you get a public telling off.
Troll twice and your shown the door.

Yeah - bit of a reality check though. It's a gag, a one-off obvious gag for this particular thread. There's no way you could call this trolling to deceive. I found it quite funny (in a *groan* sorta fashion....)
Lighten up?
(oh, in case anybody cares, it's thinfourth)
