MH engineering - suspension overhaul.

Post by mckeann » Wed Aug 16, 2006 11:23 am

Hi folks,

Just thought i'd right a wee speel about my car now i've got it back from Mark hutcheson in Banchory. I know most of you have already heard of him, and many will be considering getting a GEO done in the future. Well, i needed a steering rack fitted, new wishbone bushes, new balljoints, and new springs fitted to my car recently. I emailed Mark to ask about a geo afterwards, and as part of our cionversation, i asked how much he'd charge to do the labour.

Unsurprisingly, it was a VERY competitive price, so i went ahead with it. The work was done to the same high standards he does his geo setups to.

I spoke to him this morning about the possibility of this become a regular service for Scottish Elises, and he confirmed its something he'd like to get into, race/track car maintenance, aswell as the engineering aspect.

He actually asked me to ask for idea's of improvements to the elise. He has considered new and improved wishbones, rose joints etc etc, but is welcome to any idea's.

http://www.mhengineering.co.uk for his email for prices and idea's.

cheers

Mark's a great guy and not only know what he's doing but can dumb it down so the rest of us understand.

I just hope this doesn't go the same way as the last two attempts at elise servicing.

It seems that when it takes off from being a hobby or some kind of "homer" then the insurance cost etc kick in and puts the mockers on it.

yeh, i should add that at the moment, this isnt a business, he doesnt advertise this service, all i'm saying is drop him an email, ask him for a price, you'll probably be surprised.

i didnt get a service as such, i approached him with a list of mechanical jobs, that he gave me a price for, and did very well. He also cleaned it, greased my handbrake cable, explained how geometry worked in about 25 emails, etc etc. He didnt actually do an oil change , although i never asked him to.

Like i say, might be worth an email if your in the market.
