Popping up to Aberdeen in a couple of weeks and taking my mum/nan out for lunch:

Looking for somewhere close to Queens Road - thought of the Mal Maison but wondering if there were any other recommendations?

The Olive Tree just down from the Malmaison on the other side of the road? Not been for a while but last time I was there it was superb. You may have to book.

Cheers Jen, Peter,

Just been on TripAdvisor and it says the no1 place is Foyer's Restaurant in Crown Street, have you or anyone in S.Elise's been.

Just that I am thinking of taking the 911 up the road, and will mean I have to do 2 trips (1 from Bridge of Don and other from close to Bloomfield Court) - don't think they will manage to get in the back never mind out. Thought that Queen Street could give me options but Crown Street is not too far either.

Not been there, sorry George.

Parking wise, Dizzy's and Malmaison both have their own carparks so I would check the one on Crown Street in case you can only get parking on the street, which can be a bit of a pain if it's busy......

If you want good food close to Queens Road you could try the Rendevouz at Nargile http://www.rendezvousatnargile.co.uk/welcome.asp

+1 for Nargile as I'm veggie but there's always way too much food and it might be over the top for lunch.

I haven't been but I hear that Prego on Fountainhall Road is nice.

Thanks for all the suggestions, reckon I will take a punt at the Trip Advisor recommendation of Foyer's as the menu looks reasonable for lunch and will stop the pensioners complaining about expensive main courses.

No worrys about the parking as my mum has a disabled badge so as long as I can get her in/out of the 911 it should not be an issue :)

Dizzy's was always good for lunch, but not been for a couple of years.

Simpsons Hotel on Queens Road is another option. Not been to mal maison yet.

Dutch Mill on Queens Road is great for good quality pub food at sensible prices.

The food in the Foyer is excellent, though parking nearby can be a nightmare.

Was at moonfish cafe in Aberdeen on Saturday night with friends and really enjoyed it, one of the best fillet steaks i have had in a long time, don't know what it would be like for lunch but for anyone in Aberdeen i would highly recommend it
