Excelling in the field of logic (NLC)

Any expert Windows Excel users out there? I'm trying to input a logical function but I can only get half of it to work.

Basiclly I want a cell to validate dates and flag up if something was received late. It needs to compare the actual date against the scheduled date and also todays date.

In simpler terms if the recieved date or todays date is later than the scheduled date it puts "overdue" in a box - I can get most of it to work - the problems arise when the received date box is empty.

if anyone can help please PM me and I'll phone to discuss properly.

Cheers

mac - if you send me it at "martin dot thorn at scottishpower dot plc dot uk " I'll do it for you.

You just need to do it using nested If statements with an Iserror thrown in for good measure.

ie. If(x=y,(if(x=j,0,1),o)

Much easier for me to do it and send it back than explain it  In meetings from 2-4 but can do it after that if that helps 8)

you can make it change the cell colour too so if it's late the cell turns red!!

don't know how to do this just some w*nker in the office does that on his RFI sheets.

I can do that if it's simple enough - obviously not a big enough W@nker. Fortunatly Lazy Donkey is on the case - and as a VW owner fits the criteria :D

Cheers Martin.

Just one wee issue - if it's received before the schedule date it's still shows as overdue.
