Just heard he had a bit of a big one at fintray.
Heard they had to cut his car in half to get him out

Think he has a broken leg maybe both
I also heard it was after the finish line. Hope it was a good time

Doesn't sound good. I hope he's not too bad and recovers quickly.
Am I right on thinking that was his first outing in a new car?

It was before the finish line and latest news was that he has broken both legs and an arm. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Gary, he had the car last season, don't think he has changed it for this year. You might be thinking of FD who is out in a single seater this year.

The chassis stood up well (none of the chassis brazing broke), but the side impact came in on his legs/hip, so the rescue guys chopped the front half off the car to get him out (back half is fine). His new carbonfibre Impact (!) helmet is also now toast

.
Aah well, first marshalling and I was told it would be uneventful

Almost upside down TVR and an Evo in the mire between Ruin and Combine.
See if we can get hold of the photo of John Stewart jumping out of the way at the "escape" track at Combine as one of the Class C4 cars took off in his direction
Good day in all, although the Frog was covered in sh*t from the farm track and my face is a bit red from the sun/rain/sun/rain/.....
Get well soon Eric... I think he was "flying" all the way to A&E

Devastated about what happened to Eric
Latest news is that he has multiple fractures to both lower legs and his right elbow, will be undergoing surgery and the recovery period will be extensive. On a positive note, his neck, back and head are all fine (he underwent a precautionary CT scan) and he was alert and talkative.
I had a bit of a close shave as well!. Was standing in a place that myself and others have used for the past 4 years or so, and one of the single seaters carried a little too much speed into the corner, locked up and came straight towards me. I moved very quickly, once I had worked out which way to jump and the car went a half a length past where I had been standing, missing me be about 18 inches. I would love to see the photos or in car footage. Lesson learned though, and won't be going back to that spot again or anywhere else that's potentially as dangerous!

I was away and arrived at 14:30 thinking I would have missed most of the day, but I was greeted by the news of Eric's accident
GET WELL SOON ERIC
Marshalling tomorrow, hopefully it will be less eventful!

Not good, the straight before the finish is so tight and fast. Get well soon Eric.
