Had a bit of an accident in Town last Thursday in ABZ on Regent Quay, woman pulled out in front of me and into the side of the car, both clams damaged and front near side suspension damage. She admited responsibity.
quote for repair is £5600 (It is an R reg for those that dont know me)
Just waiting on insurnace company confirming its a right off.
Ideally looking for another S1 that has been transplanted with another engine/gearbox in it.
What can I expect to pay for such a machine?

Which side?
There is a yellow S1 on Autotrader at the moment with front driver's side damage (I think) for 3 something... Add your car, a respray and you have a whole car!

Repair your car and use the money to fit the engine of your choice?

Steve, an S1 with Honda would be in the £14K - £16K range, similarly I would think Duratec or Audi about the same.
Hard to find now though, not a single one on P/H, SELOC, Auotrader, eBay.

That's rotten luck

Here's hoping it all gets sorted soon. In the meantime, I know a few peeps on here have dealt with Europa Consulting to handle their insurance claim, and have had an elise supplied as a courtesy car.... may be worth looking into?

I have DAS cover which should be like for like, but because the car is over 6 years old then it is no longer classed as a prestige car so they are going to get some i dont know what yet....
