PISTONHEADS WARNING: This message originates in Germany

Hello,

I am from Frankfurt Germany and I have seen your Lotus Elise by Pistonheads. I am interested to buy the car but may budget is a maximum of £ 10.000.-
I could travel soon if you agree and would pay cash. Can you tell me if
there is an international airport in the City and if it´s possible to drive
the car all the way to Frankfurt or are there any restrictions?

Kind regards
Salva Gallo

I'd be very careful, but if he's got the funds.........

No harm in letting him fly over though

If he has cash fine, but go with him to the bank and get it paid in to your account directly. The bank will spot if its fake. If they accept it as legal tender, they then are responsible if it later turns out to be dodgy.

If it is a con, then telling him that it is to be paid into a bank might spook him off. If he's fine with that, then it will legit.

He's way off the mark with 10k anyway, will drop him an email and see what the response is.

for 10k you can get a 1998 standard with 50k on the clock, poss. with FLSH

Although mine is a 1997 I feel it's got enough extras/less mileage etc. to justify a price 1k+ more than that, again that's my opinion and we'll see how it gets on over the coming weeks.

If I was buying I would look at it this way...

Basic car 10k (50k on clock)

Add. engine mods filter(350), zorst(400+?), ECU(150?), magnecor leads (40), decat (60)

£11k

interior bits and bobs 150 ???

FLSH 100 ????

less mileage but older say +100 ????

Tax 100
MOT 100

TOTAL £11,550 ???????????

No no not at all matey, I fully understand where your coming from, basic book value it is over priced, if someone was to add the mods that are on it though it would cost alot more than what I'm looking for.

Cars 1st week in the autotrder today so fingers crossed :?

The thing is, the mods will add nothing to the value, so totalling up the values doesnt really work. They just make it more attractive if someone is looking for that car. But I know someone on here paid what you want for your car for a nice Sport 160.

But it is a nice car so someone will no doubt give you what you want.

Selling cars privately is a lot of pish though!

Wasn't meaning that I based the selling value on adding up the mods, just that if I was in a buying position and thought about getting a standard 10k elise then adding all these extras to it, it would cost more than what I'm looking for.

Somone got a bargain 160 at that money, did it have high mileage or something ??

You're right though it's a pain in the arse selling private :)
