Japan Earthquake

Post by simon » Fri Mar 11, 2011 10:41 am

Never seen anything like the footage of the tsunami before
Really shows the incredible and devastating power of nature and there's not a thing we can do about it.
Hope anyone that's over there is safe, I know Peter with the R8 is there just now :?

Peter's been posting on Facebook - was evacuated it seems, but perfectly okay, thankfully.

The way some of the big ships are getting thrown around makes them look like dingys.

Watching it at the moment. Incredible pictures, yachts and tankers smashing in to each other and seeing that mass of black water and debris, fortunately going mostly over arable land was horrific.

A state of emergency has just been declared at the Nuclear Plant as they can not get enough electricity in to cool it down.

I think so. The communication is down but most of my family members live in or near Tokyo, so hopefully they weren't hit too hard.

After quakes are a bit worrying though.

Thanks....

A scary reminder of the power of nature humbling indeed
