Toyos are ok after a few '00 miles let the settle down first.
That said I'll be going for Advans when I can afford them...

Yes, you really should have the same all round and I'd be a little worried as to how it might handle now, particularly in the wet

Just think of it as an opportunity for some extra excitement each time you go out for a drive, and you don't even need to spend $$$ on a honda conversion

um - you've got advans all round at the mo, and you're going to get toyos on the back and keep advans on the front? Sounds a bit daft to me Neil.
IIRC - you only got those Advans on in March - whats up with them?

Yup - if you're gonna be mixing & matching tyre types (and really, you shouldn't) then the weaker link should be on the front. It'll feel scary for the first K or so while the Toyos bed in and even after that, I'd bet a tenner that it'll be the rear that lets go first in every situation

The front tyres he got in march. The rears were new when he bought the car in feb.Just under 9k when he got it now has 15k .The rears are just worn in the middle.
And if he thinks he is putting Toyos on the rear he can stick the car up his a***.Had a big argument last night about it.
He was speaking to some one he knows and they said they could supply and fit the Toyos for £172.Anyway just going to phone MMC and order 2 rears Advans.Iwill just hide the keys from him.

Way to go Mags !!!! - This time don't put so much air in tyre and the middle won't wear out so quickly.

Yup - he killed them early through overinflation. Use that in the argument, if you want

I think I get about 7-8 K out of my rear advans, and they always go in the middle,no matter how low you run them.25psi on the road, and 19 psi cold on the track(26 hot)
My fronts have now gone,( 11K ,work on the inside, due to camber) and I remember Bob van M saying when the fronts get under 3mm they loose grip under braking, and as I locked up,and hit a bridge last weekend,I now believe him.
Cracked the clam, but hey,it was needing resprayed anyway,so just getting a big OUCH sticker for it until I get a new clam.

For S1 sizes, BF GOddrich G-force Profilers are the way to go. As good as (if not better than) Advans for half the money. Excellent grip wet or dry and fantastic wear rate too.
They workl well on track too. As good as anything else other than R series tyres.

Sorry to hear that Stu. Walshy told me exactly the same, and it effects the 48's as well as the advans. much reduced grip (even in the dry) as the tread compound goes hard.

DDtb, you're the only person I know with BFGs. Are they G force profilers? You gonna buy them again??
