New Dog - Border Collie Content

Post by Doc883 » Thu Jan 13, 2011 1:21 pm

We picked up a new addition to the household on Sunday from a breeder in Newton Mearns, Jay the 3 month old Border Collie :D Great temperament and very well behaved for a pup. I'm into my running so really looking forward to getting her out to stretch her legs. Reckon I'll give up before she does however

Day 2 and Jay takes an instant dislike to my wooden cat and promptly chewed it's ears off:

Nice one! We keep saying we'll get a mut one day. Spaniel or border collie are high on the list.

We give Woofy plastic bottles, margarine tubs, etc., to chew - she hasn't (yet) chewed anything she shouldn't .... however she did take a liking to a stack of light bulbs in the hall - she unwrapped half a dozen of them and chewed the cardboard (but left the bulbs to one side, thankfully!).

Cute looking puppy - just as well you like your running!

Cheers,
Robin

She does have some chewing toys now Robin and the wooden cat has been removed so I can try to fashion a pair of replacement ears :) Mind you put my shoes down in the hall this morning, nipped off to grab something only to come back to one with a chewed lace, doh And yes very sharp, a friend has 2 Border Collies and he say's you'll only trick a Collie once

:-) I hope the (wooden) cat makes a speedy recovery ... perhaps you should get some real cats to "play" with Jay :-)

We already have a 'real' cat that we have had for about 8 years called Eddie. Can't say he's overly impressed with the newcomer so is keeping well out of the way at the moment. I put Jay in the garden to keep her away from the cat the other day but lo and behold she came in through the catflap so foiled again. That will only work for a few weeks until she gets a bit bigger :D
