Good find Paul.
I think the Elise especially looks fresh and new (now) although I do see your point Nizzy that it is between 3 and 5 years before we see them in the showrooms and things may have moved on in that time :?
They are definately a different direction to the Loti of today and everything leading up to them.

About the what will they sell comment if you read their new and improved website they are still selling all models of elises, exiges, evora and 2-11 and give you all the details and specifications.

A news item has also been added with a label of the 2001 model below the picture (!) and text

The Lotus Elise revolutionised the sportscar market 14 years ago when the small lightweight agile 2-seat mid engine sportscar was introduced. By ensuring that the Elise stuck rigidly to Lotus’ core values of performance through light weight, the Elise was able to produce supercar performance with city car economy.
Having made its debut at the 80th International Geneva Motorshow, the 2011 model year Lotus Elise introduces a number of changes and improvements to maintain its class leading position.
For the 2011 model year, the Elise range will consist of the following variants:
Lotus Elise – 136 PS, 149 g of CO2 /km – new 1.6 litre engine
Lotus Elise R - 192 PS, 196 g of CO2 /km - 1.8 litre engine
Lotus Elise SC – 220 PS, 199 g of CO2 /km - 1.8 litre supercharged engine".
"

Is it not a bit hard to sell most of these models without any 1.8 engine to put in them so did someone forget to tell the website designers ?

I think the 1.8 engines can only be sold new until the end of the year so any unsold then will have to be registered by the dealers or the factory. According to the factory the only cars you can get just now are Becker editions or the 2011 1.6. :?

I'm confused.

How can it look so great in that video and yet so ugly in the photos from the show?
My car? Oh, it's the little yellow thing over there.

I think the new Elise looks awesome in the brochure pictures. If it ends up looking like that at production I would be tempted and as it's not out for 5years chance to save up for it.

Must just be me then!

The rear is just a fussy angular mess to me.

The Esprit on the other hand is pure lust. If only :(

That's not a bad price at all (assuming you get some free new brake pads or similar attached to each issue).
