The HD GoPro is an amazing piece of kit, good enough for broadcast apparantly (according to their site). I'm sure AMP3 do them too. :thumbsup

Yup - GoPro is stunning, you'll see them on a variety of TV shows as action cams - Gadget Show use them all the time, Top Gear have used them, the Beeb have used them in filming some in-car stuff for their GP add-on segments (there was one on the car when Lewis drove Sennas McLaren, for example)

Not cheapy cheapy, but far from what you used to spend to get a pro bullet cam setup.

From that list, the Motorsports hero is your best bet - get in touch with AndyG, I'm sure an SE price will be in the offing :thumbsup

Another option would be the Sony Bloggie - designed to be a doddle to use and upload to facebook. Something like Windows Movie Maker allows you to process this really quickly, and can also be used as a camera and web cam. Took one on frolic and have been happy with it actually - just using it now! For the first of my video blogs!

Just started using the VHoldR Contour 1080p camera. Very simple to use, comes with editing software, easy to mount, huge range of accessories. Probably more than you want to spend but worth a look non the less.
Like I said to you earlier, I've got a spare Oregon ATC3K you can use. No idea what like it is but it works and it's got a card in it so ready to go.

Video here. You tube only supports up to 720P though.

Never mind all those - get a Flip HD. Very easy to use, edit, upload etc. HD quality, cheaper than all those others. Market leader etc.

I've even used mine taped to my bike to record downhills in France etc.

I think you need to be careful when comparing 1080P and 720p as the 1080P may not be as good as you think. Broadcast HD is 1080i50 and this camera is almost certainly 1080p(24) which effectively has half the frame rate. The BBC adopted 1080i50 but later discovered that in practice the 720p50 format was often subjectively better - so Youtube is one step ahead

Edit: Mikie711, just noticed that this camera also does 720p(50?) so It would be interesting to see if you notice any difference between the two formats :) I'd bet that 720p will look better on motion shots and the in-car stuff.

Just sold 2 8GB latest generation Flip Mino HD's. I advertised on here first both times as I thought maybe someone would fancy it for a trackday.... but not a single taker... They both sold via eBay for more instead.

Got a Flip HD at work, seems like a decent bit of kit for the money.

David,
Let you know tomorrow, will try both 1080P(30) and 720P(60). Certainly the 1080P is clear enough to read the speedo in the video I shot today. Did have a battery issue with it though, it kept cutting in and out because the retaining clip wasn't properly located. Have to watch for this in future.

Did you know that it takes the same battery as a lot of older Nokia Phones (BL-5C). I had a few lying around so handy as spares when I was using a couple of Contour Cameras on our Europe Bike trip. Must get the video edited and up soon. Took loads including up and down Stelvio and The Timmelsjoch. Also seen on bike video using GoPros and it was excellent.

Video shot in 720p 60 posted to you tube. Not sure if they retain all the quality, certainly looks good on my computer in imovie.

video here

I can't however recommend the contour HD camera as I have a recurring problem with the battery losing connection. It seems to be a known problem and I thought I had fixed it but seems not.

Edit: Youtube doesn't retain the picture quality so no real way of demonstrating it on here.
