Piloti Shoes

Folks,

Was thinking of trying to get my hands on some Piloti driving shoes/trainers.

Has anyone got these shoes and would you recommend them over the SE standard Puma Speedcat/ilk ?

I noticed on the website there is a stockist in Perth (http://www.piloti-europe.com/where-to-buy/uk-resellers/). Anyone been to the one in Perth: Russell Paterson Morgan.

Depending on which ones you are after, I would be warey of the motorsport shoes, if they are anything like other proper driving shoes. I have never bought puma speedcats, always gone for sparco driving shoes (on which the pumas are based) - down to personal choice really as not a huge difference, I just prefered to have the 'driving shoe' instead of the fashion shoe styled to look like a driving shoe. However, my point; the proper driving shoes are great for driving in, but the soles wear out very quickly if you walk about in them too much. So, something to think about I guess.

I've got a pair and they do give a lot more feel than normal trainers. They are also narrower in the sole which means you don't catch pedals when braking etc. Also they are very comfortable.

I'd imagine driving shoes are worse still, but speed cats don't look like they'd last well.

Note to anyone looking for speed cats in particular, Amazon have brown ones for 35 quid at the moment...

Me and holly have the speed cats and they are very comfortable for driving. I also have the Ferrari drift cats i think? And seem to be very comfortable for driving. On my wishlist though are the alpine star boots

I also have a pair. High quality leather and very well made. Sizes (at least when I got mine) were US so best to try on before purchase if possible. Great for heel and toe and cars with limited pedal space.

I got mine on line from Grand Prix Legends but I think there are quite a few outlets now.

Now I'm back from KH I can confirm that they do improve pedal feel no end. I have Tamburello's form this years touring range which look less like driving boots and more like trainers.

Russell has a fair stock of them in Perth, and I have bought a couple of pairs off him. They are really comfortable, and great for driving and general use!
