Just wondering in any SEers are competing at Doune this weekend. Taking my wee boy Max along on Sunday to see some real racing cars for the first time.

Ricky Gauld (well known in the SE community if you've not met him) is competing in a blue imp.

I'm competing in my Blue S1 Elise.
Come say hello in the paddock.
Some of the Single Seaters are awesome to watch! Better get him a pair of ear defenders though, as they are pretty loud!!

SE old hand Jonathan Neale will be there in his 7 - BRG with yellow nose (the car, not Jonathan)

I am familiar with Jonathan's 7 from some hugely entertaining pax laps at KH a few years ago
I'll come and say hello. Cheers guys.
The Doune hillclimb remains on my list of things I have to do one day - I am sure this weekend will serve to bump it up the list a bit

The Abarth dealership were meant to be arranging a get together for owners at Doune this weekend, with a view to some of us having a go... but it's all gone quiet. The lady at the dealership organizing it was on holiday last week, so I've made other plans now.
I heard there are 4 Abarths registered though, so who knows

I spotted a few Eliges in the car park as I was leaving today.
Was my first time going up Doune, I loved it - the biggest adrenaline rush I've had from driving!
Started yesterday with a 58.6, and got down to a 54.04 today, 1.6 seconds faster than the record for my A8 class,

but unfortuantely 0.09 slower than my competition in the Lowland Championship
All good fun, although it was roasting sitting in the paddock in romper suit, lid & gloves waiting for each run!

Were you in a blue S1? Sure I saw one in the paddock with McDonald Mini banner on the windscreen.

Had a great weekend! Perfect weather, perfect track conditions meant I got down to a 45.83, getting rather quick for an old Caterham!
The top 12 run-off was amazing to watch as always aswell, roll on September to do it all again!

Had a good time spectating and wee Max loved it. Sorry I never found any SEers to say hello - too much time lying in the sun up the hill.
Most entertaining moment of the day was watching one Mr Craig Nicol on the practice run just after I arrived yesterday morning. Very lairy slide coming out of Oak Tree corner almost kissing the armco - I though a shunt was imminent, gasps from the couple next to me - not even a hint of lift off though, hard on the power and sideways through Garden Gate, again getting up close and personal with the barriers

. Looked hugely impressive from where I was standing -totally committed, right on/over the limit and very quick
I was also really nice to see the sizable group of Ferraris being ragged up the hill rather than just polished and pampered as seems to be the Fezza norm.

That was myself, Kevin, Iain & Nizzy.
We had popped in on our way back from TT to see if we could catch some of the action - only saw the second top 12 run off and the tail end of the Nat B group - no elise varients tho
I did think to myself, that guy looks vaugely familiar when you waved in the car park!

There was a blue S2 Elise (52 plate...) which followed me out of Doune back towards the M9. Male driver, femal pax I think. I was in the white Abarth 500, and I did a twice round the roundabout so came past you a bit later south bound. Split rear diffuser, so guess it was a 111s. Anyone from here?
Andy.

Went past Doune on Sunday but decided that it was such a good day that a nice drive along the Duke Pass was a better option rather than watching others have fun in their cars.
Had a chat on the backroads with another S.Eliser in Red Exige S coming back from the hill climb - great use of the AP Calipers on the Evora to stop and have a chin wag.
Must admit the car looked really nice in the Red and it really does suit that colour
Cheers
