and another what car thread!.....

Post by DDtB » Tue Mar 16, 2010 3:25 pm

Having another hypothetical chat in my head at the moment, largely due to a colleague who may be changing his car very shortly.....

What would you buy if you had the following criteria....??

New car
35mpg +
Under £450 per month for up to 20k miles p.a.

Suggestions please! (other than a 300C  )

Cheers!

Dave.

.............getting a BMW 5 series. WHich probably isn't what you want to hear.

Can you not take the money and buy used ? Or do i remember you telling me that your company didnt want to do that ?

This is much cheapness.... I am sure you could persuade the lease company to alter the annual mileage

Given your fetish with Italian things that break :D

Otherwise with a sensible head on

Passat CC
Skoda Superb
Skoda VRS
Alfa 159 Sportwagen

Have a look at loony Lings Cars website?

Cheers folks.

Currently have the default choice of repmobile... the 320D SE. It's perfectly adequate, but not what you'd call exciting.

Any replacement has to have a wee bit of an executive image about it, so I think the fast Skodas are out. (plus I'm clearly a total badge snob and still remember the Skodas of old we used to slag off continuously, even if they are great now!! )

My colleague has just bought a 300C and there's no getting away from the fact it's fantastic value for money..... just not sure it's what I want.

Think this is the 1st time I've ever been stumped as to what car I want..... maybe I should keep the 320 in all its efficient dullness....
