lo
looking to getting a digital camcorder.
Ali had a nice wee one, cant remember its name tho!
Would use it to record runs/track days - but also other fun stuff (!)
light and small would be good. something easy to get onto the pc is a must!
any ideas?
Cheers

Heh - didn't see this mate. Well, must have read it with one morning's 200 posts or something
Specific models I can't help with, but I'd look at Sony. I have the PD-170 for work stuff and it's a great piece of kit. My dear ol dad also has a smaller book-sized Sony (haven't a clue on the model number) and the quality of both footage and the kit itself is superb.
Just get a firewire card for the PC and XP will recognise most Sonys and install drivers when you plug in. You can then use Movie Maker (or whatever package you choose) to remote control the camera during capture - piece of piss....

I've got an Archos AV500 with mini cam (bullet cam)
Pretty sweet for the track and you can just drag and drop the footage straight from it

Samsung is good but limited battery life. You really need an extra battery.
Also expensive for just track work - great all round camera though and v.v. small.
