Back in an Elise

Post by Rich H » Mon Jun 19, 2006 2:38 pm

I've been in pastieland for the last 2 weeks driving crappy works transits, minibusses and a tug, then my mum's 307SW and the g/f's MX5.

Feck me it's good to be back in a car which can overtake things!
Grin is back as big as ever!

Trying not too...

Very wary to begin with, crappy brakes, no power steering, poor viz, etc.

Fantastic!

Oh and no water lost this time, just a flat battery, a quick call to the Mech Transport boys sorted that out in 5 mins.

It was fine last time I left it for 2 weeks, might be worth investing in a solar charger or just a cheap battery and charger. Keep it in the house and use jumpleads when it won't start.

I leave the alarm off as it ain't the most efficient alarm in the world, and besides we have Mr SA80 at the gate....

solar charger sounds interesting. I take it it plugs into the cigarette lighter?? :? :?

mine i don't think has ever worked (cigarette lighter). Anyone encountered that.?? fairly sure fuses are good, but will check again. The lighter itself is in brand new condition(ie never used) so makes me think it's a proper long term prob. :?

Nah, prolly just the wire come off the back or connected the wrong way round. common problem when the tunnel has been in bits.

The whole 'dying in 2 weeks' thing depends massively on how good your battery is. I'm sure you'll be unable to kill it so soon mate
