Phones (sorry it's that time again)

Time for an upgrade and Vodafone are now doing i-phone.
But i'm now thinking that a blackberry might be the way to go? and the guy in the Vodafone shop said Blackberry would be better.
Bold 2 (9700) gets a good write up, but the Storm looks more my cup of tea.
Looking for a phone that phones, doesn't need charged every day (one of the reasons i dont like the i-phone), take photos, e-mails, internet (would be nice to get them everywhere) and has an alarm
What do you think?

I've just been through this and ended up with an iPhone 3GS. I just find the blackberry too fiddly.
I don't mind putting mine on charge every night and it does everything you want very well. Except the photos. The camera is a bit sh*t.

All the latest kit are hard on battery life with their high res screens, but the worst offender by a country mile is the Storm with customer claims of having to charge the device on a twice daily basis if used as a converged device(web browsing/email/voice)
I love the iphone but it requires a charge every evening
I also use two BB devices (Bold 1&2) for corporate email and the battery life appears to be good for 2-3 days with heavy usage
If your anti iphone ........go for the 9700
Or if you are the pioneering type, wait a while....... spend £300 on the new Google Android phone which seems to be going down well

Anyone know when the motorola milestone is coming to the UK ? preferably on o2, before I go and swop networks for an N97.

Motorola is imminent on O2
I would advise caution on a N97 purchase as it currently has the highest returns of any current mobile
UK: Operators Drop Nokia N97 Mini And Sony Ericsson X2
Orange UK has stopped selling the Nokia N97 Mini after high returns of the mobile phone, industry sources told trade magazine Mobile Today. An Orange spokesman confirmed the handset was no longer available, but would not say why. An industry source told Mobile that it "was because of a lot of different issues, not just software problems. It was failing Orange's ongoing tests, which are quite rigorous".
Meanwhile, Sony Ericsson confirmed that Vodafone will not offer the new X2 smartphone in the UK. The handset's release was delayed from before Christmas due to continued software testing. A Sony Ericsson spokesman said that due to the delay in delivery, the handset no longer fit Vodafone's planned handset portfolio.

i-phone 3gs would be my reccomendation - I think they are amazing kit.
I have a Blackberry (for work) and find it incredibly fiddly to use and it has been back a couple of times for repair

is there not a new i-phone due in the summer?? I'm in the same boat Vodafone contract is now up and looking for a new phone, I had an N97, was Ok but it broke so I sold the replacement the other day, also thinking the i-phone is the way to go at the mo but keeping an eye on what's upcoming as I don't want to tahe on an 18 mth contract for the phone to be superceeded in 6....

Yup, exactly as I have found. For my use it came down to the Blackberry or the iPhone and one is easy to use. Deal done!
The iPhone interface is so intuitive that my 3 year old picked up how to use it straight and is better with it than I am.

Anyone ever heard of anyone who had an iPhone and didn't like it so bought something different?
I haven't. Says it all IMO, iPhone is the danglies.

FYI Scotty, I was really anti-iPhone before I got one. I only got one as I desperately needed a new phone and couldn't find anything else that fitted the bill on O2. TBH I was mainly put off by the cost cos I'm tight.
But I got mine for nowt and don't pay any more a month than I already was,
with a slightly better tariff.
Now I have one, I'm totally converted.

iphone - there is nothing like it - I had reservations on the whole charging issue but only charge every two days or so...

Use a iphone 3g for personal use and have bberry curve for work use. both have their own merits. iphone is fancy dangle and has lots of apps and needs charging. the berry does phone and email well and can install twitter, gmail, fbook etc. replacing the curve with a 9700 in the next few weeks.
do you drop phones ?

not really into dropping phones, i do like it to fit in my front jean pocket and don't really look after my toys.

The I-Phone MOBILE aint mobile !
Jen has one and I hate it, Yes it can do everything but you have to be plugged into the fecking mains at all times to be able to use them. Phones not very clear and the camera is terrible, ask Jen she has a photo of Kevin Mcwhatubob of Gran Designs. The photo is so fuzzy it could be anyone/thing standing beside her.
I have a Blackberry which I like. The screen is a bit smaller but at least your not plugged into the mains every 4 hrs.

Mine will last two days and I use it for email, web browsing and calls and texts quite a lot through the day. Sounds like its fooked to me.
