We have a moose loose aboot oor hoose, and it's effing annoying.

Wife wants humane traps, I want the most effective way of getting rid.

Looking for best advice, which is cost effective, she phoned Rentokil & got a shock $$$$

We have a mouse too, caught the bugger twice now. Sure it's the same one - I took it to work and it took 2 weeks to walk back

One mouse? Leave it alone, they are cute.

We have one in the kitchen behind the dishwasher and it comes out and eats the bits that Khan knocks out of his feeding dish. Its not even scared of him and they sit there looking at each other.

I could send our Alfie round. He's damn handy with mice. Took one into the house last week, let it go then grabbed it again, basically teasing the f*ck out of it until he decides to eat it! And believe me the cat can move quicker than the mouse.

Seriously - borrow a neighbours cat.

I'll get slated for this, but every October the little f*ckers move in... old house, and plenty of opportunities for them to get in, not to mention the aga in the kitchen must be inviting!

Anyway, spoke to Noops about this as well last year, put down the humane traps last year, and spent my life ferrying mice across to Dundee for a holiday, and letting them free in fields....

This year i thought i would try a different approach...

Have bought some sealed snap traps and bated with peanut butter and choco drops - caught quite a few, however I also bought a sonic and electromagnetic plug in device from B&Q. Since plugging in the device into the mains, I have not caught any mice.... so unless i eradicated them (i doubt it) but i think the device must be working.....

Going to switch it off, and then put the bated traps out again and see if after a week it means I start catching them again!

I'm not that bothered by them, I keep food and clothes off floor, surfaces clean and still to this day I have not actually seen one. I am sure they partaaaay at night when i am sound asleep though!

I get them all the time, live in the country.

humane mouse traps dont work. they are pests you should kill them!

If you let it go outside it will just come back.

go to b&q and get some of their bate it smells like chocolate or get peanut butter (apparently they love either) and put it on a cheap rentakill mouse trap. Should be caught pretty quick.

Also if it starts peeing and sh@tting all over your house it will smell like a hamsters cage.

go to homebase we got an ultrasonic thing that plugs in for a tenner, not used it yet due to mrs being pregnant and worried it may affect baby.

It's been sh!tting in the kitchen already - twas the first sign we had an extra pet (let's not mention the psychotic hamster which got added to the Beaton fleet of pets last Thursday - as if we need another fecking rodent in the house) - not smelly tho. Regular sweeping & mopping sees to that
