She's gone! (sold Lotus content)

I handed the Elise keys to a man in a (slightly shiny) suit yesterday as a trade-in
When we bought our Elise S in March last year, I never thought about the day I might be starting a "sold my Lotus" thread! But ever since the wee fella, Joshua, came along last November the clock of inevitability has been ticking - yes, I could have fitted a forward-facing car seat soon but there'd still have been compromises in Chez Liddell. So the time came to sell, but not after another great summer on the roads as I buried my head in the sand and struggled to 'let go'.
We have some stonkingly good memories from the 18 mths it spent with us
From Graeme handing over the keys, to a very poignant roof-off blat in glorious sunshine yesterday pm... and every moment in between.
First weekend, straight from Murrays (torrential rain) to the Yorkshire Dales (dry!):

Alps camping and blatting in Aug/Sept 2008 (luxury compared to previous trips in a Caterham):

And the halcyon moment - pre-dawn blat up a deserted Stelvio
:

All happy days. The car never let us down in nearly 13,000 miles of grinning like a loon
Every trip, journey, blat, or errand was 'special'. It has, simply, been a perfect road car. I never had intentions to track it, as the Tomato more ably fills that need. One day, when things don't need to be quite so practical, I hope to revisit the Lotus itch that remains

I still have the Tomato of course, so you haven't got rid of me
