Guys,

I have a corporate race on at the PFI international karting circuit in Lincolnshire....my girlfriend and i won the Edinburgh heat at Raceland and the this is the final....yey! :D

Watched some youtube vids on and it looks frankly mental....

Anyone been on it and has some advice? Im sure I'll learn loads on the practice laps, but I'd love to win it...!

It's a 1hr30 endurance race so will probably need a wheel chair after it. To be honest we are unlikely to win....there was only 18 secs between 1st to 3rd placed pair-teams at Raceland. That was a 1hr30 race too. Im just glad to be in the final...! My gf says she wont enjoy it if I coach (pressure) her! Booo..!

The aerial photos are pretty good for learning apices and braking points from all the tyre marks left...

Wish us luck...!

Mike

Never drove at PFI but some general advice i can give
1. Dont try to win the race at the first corner, most will and places can be made by staying out of trouble.
2. Try to drive with your head and keep the ego in check.
3. Smooth and consistant.
4. Dont get bullied racers smell fear.
5. Sometimes its better to concede a corner and win it back on the next rather than coming off.
6. Loose the red mist.
7.Have fun .....but dont come last that sucks

Let us know how you get on. Have not raced in a year now is there a racers anonymouse i can join.

Best advice I can give is be very patient, its not a track to drive hard on, it you go into many of the corners to fast , you will miss the turn in of the next corner, and will not be able to carry speed onto the next straight, so have a good look when other drivers are out, in particular the left hander which comes after the 3 boring 180 deg corners at the start of the lap, go in to fast and you muck up the line for the next right hander, the the very long right which has a very late apex, you have to hit it, and stay over to the right to get a good exit in the next left, otherwise you will be passed going down the straight. All or this is even more important in the wet.

Have fun.
