Stage 1 or 2 Exhaust
Getting a bit bored of the tame sound from my exhaust on the 111r so looking to upgrade to Stage 1 or 2
Anyone any idea on cost - MMC were useless still waiting on a call back
And how loud is the Stage 2 ??
The car isnt my daily drive.

Shock!!!
My 111R has the Stage 2 exhaust. I dont find it particularly intrusive but it is certainly much more sporty sounding than the standard one. I also didnt really think much of the Stage1 noise but thats probably due to my untrained ears. There was a Stage 2 exhaust for sale on Pistonheads for 160 quid! Think mine from MMC was... err... lots n lots more

Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Wanted: Train.
I thought stage 1 was the standard and 2 was the louder option?
Mine (exige) came with stage 2 and is very loud. I missed 3rd gear the other night when giving it full beans out a roundabout, and the guy we were meeting 2.5 miles away heard it (and me coming). Bangs and pops, great if you do no motorway driving, liveable with if you do. My car has the ITG carbon induction kit too so I am not sure how much noise inside is made by that.
There was a guy last week selling a Arqray single tip on SELOC that I was tempted buy , but I like what I have so its staying.

I have stage 2 and for motorways its a bit much!
For the rest its awesome!
Pop and bangs galore!! Think they cost around £350 plus fitting although im told that its easy to do. Stage 1 im told isnt all that different from the standard one and costs around the same. Im gunna invest in a 2bular(jim v) exhaust next. Stage 2 is around 104db, far too lound for most tracks but stage 1 is fine. ITG makes it all louder. jims is 98b and is fine for cruising but also gives 2nd cam, pop bang action!

if its not your daily driver then get the stage 2, but as already stated for some tracks it may be too loud. I nearly got thrown off at EF for peaking at 104db, and averaging 98db.
When i visit my folk in the Borders my Dad now listens to me leave, as he can pretty much hear the car the whole 2 miles to the A68, the sound pinging round the hills
Lovely sound though, as Ed and I demonstrated on the way back from KH the other week, while holding up the rest of the A90, side by side and then hitting the cam full stride
2nd cam is just an awesome noise.
When the cars cold the pops and bangs are genial - love it.
Understand where you are coming from - standard it sounds like a Yaris

Yeh Very tempted with the Stage 2 because I dont use the car that often (got a CTR company car for work)
Im a bit of a track virgin
Ive not had the 111r on yet and only tracked the S1 once but do fancy getting on the track soon

Wade in for the stage II, and I'd also be tempted to get the induction kit. Helps with low down pick-up i find.mrbennybennett wrote: Yeh Very tempted with the Stage 2 because I dont use the car that often (got a CTR company car for work)
