Servicing Alternatives

Post by Janner » Mon Jun 06, 2005 4:43 pm

Hello,
I was wondering if there are any alternatives to MMC for servicing? I have an S2 Exige due its 9000 mile and 2 new rears. Are there any other specialists and if I go down this route will it effect my warranty?

Cheers for any help.

Try one of the ones mentioned in this post. Dunno if you'll get a Lotus stamp from Falkland, pretty sure Brunty hasn't got one. All depends how much you want to have a book full of dealer stamps :)

Oh, and hello - why not pop over to the newbie bit and intro yourself!!

Lotus stamps mean sh*t!
Why pay over the top for a Lotus stamp?

Falkland know their stuff.

It wont affect warranty provided you stick to the service schedule and all parts used are the same as Lotus parts or of equal quality.

after visiting Falkland site and reading...

"Do you know that if a car is under warranty, the owner is free to have it serviced wherever they like?

In fact thanks to recent European legislation, it is an offfence for any manufacturer or dealer to suggest that it is a requirement of a warrantey that the vehicle must be serviced by them. The work can be carried out by any competant technician using products of a quality equal to the original."

MMC can go jump!!

Cheers lads

Just spoke to the people at Falklands and they quoted £64 + vat. They are going to speak to Murray to see what is required of a 'B' service and I guess carry out the same work. A saving of nearly £300 maybe....Hmmm

Would this effect resale of my car though? Not having FLSH. Not that it would matter as I would have saved a fortune on servicing in that time.

Cheers
