Discussing with Simon et al about migrating to our own server and no point limiting things if everyone is on bband.

I sometimes log on using a lap-top data card (not 3G) which is very slow..

:(

But mostly on BroadBand.

Are we talking about not limiting things like photo uploads etc?

Might be worth having a chat about this, as I'm not hugely keen that the forum gets bogged down and slows up. Although, not aware of the tech issues, so I'd need educated on the ins and outs....

Old story - doesn't really matter if there's only 5% on dialup, I don't think it's right or fair to f**k up their ability to use the forums quickly and effectively for the sake of some eye-candy.

Been looking at various mods for phpbb that can limit things and put options on image posting etc. Site itself will not slow as will be as good as dedicated box with lots of bandwidth. I think a minimalist text only version would be advantagous.
