First Track Training!

Right,

I have had my Liz for 6 months now, and its time for me to finally get some track time!

The only problem is that the first date I can make for the KH Hy-Performance course (Not KY Shug!) is 3 April at 7pm!

Won't this be a bit exciting in the dark?!?! Or wll it be like training in the wet: if you can drive in this then you can drive in anything

But as it's KH won't it be raining too anyway?

Wet and Dark?

What do you all think before I book it?

That would be fine Rich, remember the clocks will have changed by then and it will be a lot lighter. Also with the Hy performance they teach you to be smooth/the lines rather than 100% of your/the cars ability.

Go for it, you wont regret it!!

isnt that after the clocks go forward, so it shouldnt be dark. Good chance of rain though. Just do it.

I prefer dry tracks, but starting to get the hang of wet track time now. if you drive in the worst conditions, then at least you know it can only get better

It's well worth it. I did hy-performance having never been on a track before, in ed's black cab

Card carrying member of L plate chicken club. It's totally fine though. Like ed said they get you used to the car, and concentrate on getting the lines etc and not on going balls out

Is that the one hour with an instructor session ?

If so you'll have an absolute ball, even if its pissing down

I did mine in March last year, 2 months after getting the car. I still remember the smell of fear as the instructor launched the car into Duffis for the first time...........lookign back i know he wasn't anywhere near 100% but my god it was an eye-opener into what the car could do.

Thats the same spot i had, and it was a f***ing monsoon, and blowing a gale. Still think it was one of the most amusing track nights I've had and if its wet its far easier to go beyond the limits of the car

You will love it!

It will bolster your confidence for KH outings also, and let you learn the right lines without having to worry about being passed or other distractions.

Prepare to feel your credit card making more outings every time the word trackday hits this forum! Its pretty addictive

Can't believe I missed the best bit.

You're on track with the single seaters and ferrari.......but you are doing 20 laps in a car you know well so you'll be hammering past them every few laps.

Having done the single seaters myself I know you always feel like you are going mega fast, only to get blown into the weeds by you going past.

Just got this from KH;

If you feel you would benefit from some serious one- to-one tuition then we have TWO REDUCED PRICE SPACES available on Monday 3rd April - This course offers 25 laps of the Circuit - it's too good to miss! Normal price is £135 but you can book in for ONLY £99!

Eh.... normal price was £99. Thats what i got quoted at the end of last year when i enquired about it. Must have fired the prices up for this season
