Speed cameras?

Hey guys, anyone know if the blue cameras on the A68 Heading North from Newcastle are all active?

was overtaking really slow traffic on Long straight then noticed at the last min was approching a face on Blue camera just outside a countryside bar on my right...really worried, first week in new job and dont want to loose my licence :shock:

Approaching the old style cameras should be fine.

Might just make for a nervous 28 days though - Surely your not on 9 points already?

Yip....9 points :oops: thats what happens when your around sports cars all day! In a bit of a panic, really hope I havent been caught out again...
Ive got a set due to come off on 1st April...do you know if i do get points from Friday is the date of conviction the date it happened or the date I reply to them?

The NIP must be sent within 15 days of the offence. If you get one, contest it so it goes to court. The police need to give you the pictorial evidence at least 7 days in advance of the court date. However, 99% of the time they do not supply a copy of the picture to the defendant and therefore, their evidence is inadmissable and the case will be thrown out :D

And the blue cameras are not active in that sense. They are to monitor traffic levels and cannot be used to aid prosecution for speeding offences.

I wasn't going to comment on the blue ones as I've never been on the road but most blue cameras are Trafficmaster traffic monitors that check the rate of traffic flow and report it for cars with TM fitted. Having said that, I've seen pics of front facing Truvelo cameras which are speed cameras.

Trafficmaster ones look like this:

Large blue cameras........all the way on the A68, pritty sure they are speed cameras :shock:

Nope, they are correctly been identified as trafficmasters

i cant remember seeing truvelo's on that road. may have changed though


what are you doing with a front number plate on anyway?? did working for lotus teach you nothing ?? :lol:
