Keen photographers/ kh

Post by gordon » Fri Apr 29, 2005 10:16 pm

Is anyone from here doing Hot Marques on monday or Dreadnought track night on tuesday? I'm booked for both, it would be good to put some faces to the names. It would also be good to meet this deviant Shug in the flesh to see if he's the slavering potential rapist that i'm imagining him to be from his suggestive posts. Plus, every time i'm up i've got no idea who anyone is and i'm not really up for the "Hi, i'm one of the lurkers from S_E pleased to meet you". So anyone who comes up, i'll be in the silver S1 with the blank number plates on, feel free to chat/poss wangle some pax laps. Si, are you or any one else planning on taking any photos. Got some real nice slides out the hair pin and Macintyres last time i was up coz there was a photographer there. Came off track and accosted him, showed me he'd got some nice pics of my "moments" and promised to e mail them. Still waiting  It would be great to get some pics of the car on track before the gf finds out how much its costing on tyres and changes her mind about lettin me loose.

Don't think I'll make it there tonight or tomorrow Gordon.
Don't worry though, sure I'll get some pics of you soon enough :D
Are you doing the SIDC day on the 12th June?

Not sure if i'll do that one. There was a photographer at the track tonight so i'll check his site soon and hopefully i'll be on it. Neil had a camera in car and followed me for a few laps, so should get some vid footage too.

Gordon
I popped up to KH lst night to have a try with my recently purchased camera and zoom lense. The light conditions were pretty poor as I sure you were aware, so nothing fantastic from me.
Here are a couple that I think may be of you

I am sure that I saw FD in the distance also, so perhaps he will have something a bit better.

Yep, thats me in the 1st two alrite :D . Cheers, didn't expect to got any from the wet KH night. Got some pics back from the dry night on the monday. Still nobody got any shots of the sideways moments on either nights :? !! Still nice shots though, i hope Fd does post some pic's if he was there. Doubt it though, since the bickering on yahoo about using photo's. I'll post on yahoo and see if i get any response.

Cheers

Looks like Fd's site is "down for maintenance" so not sure what that means. Maybe he wont be posting any more pics.

Gordon,
Brave man in the wet.
I am too pussy for the wet.

Praying Tut Towers is dry otherwise I will be £50 worse off.

Gareth, i found it much better in the wet. The corner speeds are'nt as high, and as long as your smooth with your steering and throttle inputs it's a hoot. Plus it seems smoother when it steps out and you can totally play with it on the throttle to keep the slide goin or bring it back in. But i found when it steps out in the dry your cornering so much faster, so it loads up the suspention and can ping you into a big fishtail if your not quick enough to catch it. Seriously, you should get involved in the wet track day revolution, it's the future .

Gaylord

Seriously, gordon is 100% right. You are far BETTER doing a few wet trackdays before a dry one. You get a much better feel for what the car does over the limit without it being rediculously fast or snappy.

I've done hundreds of laps of KH, wet and dry - mostly on maxsports. trust me on this... :)

Don't you get it though? You're probably more likely to fling it as far as the kitty litter in the dry - the mid corner speed is higher. It drifts sooo much more controllably in the wet that you catch it easier than in the dry.

Still - you do what you will. Just think it's daft to talk about wasting fifty quid on inaccurate worries...
