Nice choice....very quick bike 180 min

It is clearly insane to ride any bike but they are such great fun as you can pass anything at anytime.

I'd suggest some rider training though as bikes can't be opposite locked in quite such an aeasy manner as a car and so corners require a different attitude from the driver.

Loads of torque. Total wheelie machine if your not carefull. (as with any bike)

Has all the goodies on it too. I had a go on the earlier model of this and it was quite jerky off the throttle and hard to ride smoothly compared to a big 4pot like an R1 or GSXR1000. Awesome bike though.

I agree with Lawrence about refresher training. Sports bikes go up in power every year and even if your a decent rider, a few years away from bikes and you'll be shocked at the power the latest models have. These beasts are a million miles away from your old motocross bikes from years ago.

My uncle just got a fireblade, for very reasonable pennies, and is loving it. He's still at the stage where its scaring him sh*tless!

He's not going to use it much during the winter, but used to have a fair few bikes, and has now gone back to them. To echo what has been said, he i still in awe of the power on tap.

if you want to get back on a familiar styled bike to your previous crosser but for the road have a look at supermoto.

different style and speed to sports bikes but every bit as much fun and for me even more. our roads are so c#ap the long travel to the suspension makes progress on B roads much quicker and you don't buy a bike for straight roads.

great fun for hooning around and as obnoxious as you like, the louder the better. look at the KTM website at the 950sm plenty grunt reasonably good cruising but naked nature makes sustained speeds, 80+, pretty hard going. 990 adventurer makes touring more practical but for real sm bikes try 525exc's, 640's, CCM's or proper sm'd crossers.

i've had a CCM 604SM for 5years and it still makes me smile everytime i ride it, might not be fast but plenty quick enough.
