I'm on nights again

does anyone have anything they need doing or want me to apply my boundless boredom to?

I'll consider anything except babysitting, I don't do children close up cos I remember what I was like.

Otherwise I'm going to be bouncing off the walls again.

Try daytime TV for a week every 2 weeks....

No it's not all bad, but I just get bored.

If you were a bit closer I'd glady come over and fix it. Do you want to bring it over one aftrenoon? Won't take long to fix and you can come see my jet planes....

How are you with cars?? I'm sure i could leave my elise and a set of nylatron bushes and pick it up a week later if your THAT bored.

You RAF types, too energetic. I find it no problem lying in my bed all day when i'm nightshift

Try sleeping when the noisy buggers keep insisting on flyig past your window! Everything rattles, especially the sound proofing and double glazing they put in in about 1955.

The problem is more one of facilities, we aren't allowed (Supposedly!) petrol cars in the hangar, hangover from spitfires, along with no skegs in shoes, the big wigs love the clickety clack of skegs and our lineys love nothing more than telling them off

The motor club is an option but I'll only get 2-3 hours / day on the car.

Leave me the keys for 3 weeks and we'll see....

What shifts do you work, maybe we can both get them done?

I need a new exhaust manifold and a new radiator fitted. You can even keep the car for a week while I'm on holiday if you want.
For beer tokens of course

Manifold or flexi? Done the flexi on mine no probs, but I will look into the manifold. Rad is a clam off job, so space becomes an issue, but I'll look....

How about a crutch strap bar (and one combined with a fire extinguisher mount for the pax side).

Just had a lok at the rear tow hook on the page Ali posted. probably better having an eye at each bolt and use a strop to stop the subframe being pullled towards the centre

Ali: Sadly I don't have the facilities to make such parts, sounds like a job for Pollock Precision to me. I have been exploring carbon fiber moulding kits though. A fire extinguisher mount should be quite straight forward from CF plate, will investigate.

That anti sub bar looks really thin to me, seeings as you can bend a 1/4 steel bar by hand and impact forces are a bit higher than that! Supose it will bend not break, so might be a good thing....

Problem with seat belt bits is you only get to test them once, and you don't need to find out that it needs to be 1mm thicker at that point...

i work funny shifts. I'll let you know when i get it back, with a shiny new honda engine. on second thoughts, now i know why you wnat it for 3 weeks

If the bar will take the weight of the car in the center, a tow point in the middle should be ok, unless you plan on getting truly stuck....! I was thinking the same about the lift bending the bar and pulling on the subframe.

Are all seat mounting points the same S1/S2/Exige? Just so I can use my car as a model.

I didn't think of that but I have now!!!!

By all means as long as you have access to a kettle and bacon cooking facilities I'll gladly lend a hand!
