Knockhill Classic Speedfair

That was rather a co-incidence. I had just posted reference Lotus and Colin Chapman in the other thread, when I had a phone call from Stuart Gray, who is the Managing Director of KH.
The Classic Speedfair is on again this year on Sunday 8th June, last years tt2007 date, and it is also the 60th Anniversary of the start of Lotus, and the 40th Anniversary of Jim Clark's death. As such Stuart wants to make it even more of an event this year, and based around Lotus, particularly cars from the earliest to the latest. Normally all show cars must be pre 1982, but that will not apply this year.
However this is going to be great news for Scottish_Elises, as he wants me to help organise it. His idea is to try and put together the biggest gathering of Lotus models ever seen in Scotland, alongside all the other Classic cars, which will all be pre 1982. On top of that we will have our own 30min Lotus track session for upto 35 cars, alongside a similar one for the Ferraris. This will be open pit lane and run the same way as SIDC and tt, ie drive fast but safely, and no spin offs that would close the track.
I can therefore invite as many Lotus's as we can put together for the static display, and they will also line up on track and probably do a procession lap, and hopefully break any record if there is one.
For the track session, I do not have a confirmed number yet, but I would think around 20 if Stu gets 15 Classic Lotus's pre Elise 1996 age. I could not get everything completely free, but everyone parading their Lotus will get half price admission, and the track session will be free.
Stu is meeting with members of the Lotus Club on Tuesday, and I will meet up with him after that. I do not doubt that I will have any problem getting 20 cars for the track, but for now I would like to start a list of all those that would like to attend and show and parade their cars, and I will decide later how to pick the ones going on track. For you polishers there will also be a Concours display and competition.
The day itself should be a great family day out, some of you probably went last year, and apart from all the Classic cars, and now some modern ones, there will be stunt displays, aerobatics, and the various Marquees and exhibitions that go along with it. Plus ex racing drivers and motoring celebrities, Clive Chapman, not sure about Page 3 girls though.
Full details of the day are not yet up on KH's site, but will be when it is closer to the time.
If one of the moderators would decide which category this thread is best in and maybe move it and put it as a sticky, then we can start a list of those that would like to attend. One question that will be asked I presume is whether Caterhams come under Lotus, so I have just left a message for Stu asking him.
