2bular - what's this worth?

Post by SteveBanks » Tue Nov 27, 2007 2:55 pm

I spotted a 2bular 8" GT3, sports cat and panel eliminator kit for sale in the classifieds of another forum. The guy was looking for offers around £450 which I thought was reasonable. Anyway, I received an email and some pics and first things first, it's not a sports cat just a cat bypass. I was also surprised at the poor surface condition of the finish.

Do they all go like this? Puts me off even buying a new one - I love the look of them when shiny but this would look crap.

Can anything be done to polish it up?

How much do people reckon it's worth? I was thinking about offering £250 max, but only if it's possible to re-polish or use some sort of plating.

Some autosol might clean it up.
Usually things like this IMO are worth half of what they're new.

Can you get stainless steel plated? As in nickel plated or the like?

There are a few 2bular owners on here, do they all corrode like this? The exhausts, not the owners

you get different grades of stainless steel some corrode more than others, if you are desperate for something that won't try inconel but be prepared to pay for it it's not cheap. it doesn't help that the exhaust is hot that will add to the staining. and any corrosion will slow down further corrosion as it will seal it.

Just polish the bit's you see.
