do I need more black?

Post by David Bryce » Wed Nov 14, 2007 10:29 am

I'm on a mission to make my car as black as possible :D

recently I have painted the under-tray black courtesy of a can of Hammerite

Image

put a black/silver Lotus badge on the front courtesy of eBay (it needed replaced anyway as some wee ned tried to rip of the original one)

Image

and put a black fuel filler surround on courtesy of Hangar111 (maybe needs black bolts?)

Image

(sorry the photos are crap as they were taken on my phone)

so, what next? I'm thinking smoked side indicators are a definite, I just can't decide on the wheels?

what do ya think? matte black with black/silver Lotus centre caps or something else?

it's not normally this shinny BTW, I just picked her up from MMC first thing this morning as she was getting her first service (and it was free  ) and they have done a good job polishing her :D

Gareth, aye yer right, I had the under-tray off a wee while ago to do some DIY 'adjustments' (i.e. hitting with a hammer) to my exhaust, thought bugger it and bought some Hammerite. I will get it done properly if/when I get the wheels done :D

Go full-chav and black out the rear lights & side indicators :P

Seriously tho - powdercoat the wheels black (or at least anthracite)

Who's the best at doing this in the central belt? Thinking about it myself.

Oh and cheers David for the offer of a coffee. Was on my way round when the Low loader arrived

I must admit, jolly prompt service from the old AA :thumbsup

David,

Next on your list should be black sports-racer drop forged wheels - they look great anyway, but will get rid of those standard S2 wheels that i think spoil the look of the S. There's a set on Selc*ck now...

black it all I say..

it's very vogue ala Cayman S PD Black and Black Edition AMG cars etc..

black wheels a must and I'd try and sneak in a smoke on those lights or find a projection conversion so you can so black background..

small black sun screen (MOT legal of course)..?

black rear lights or maybe just black the inner pair would be cool. 8)
Preparing for take-off.. systems check..

Might not be as bad as feared. Probably just a knackered thermostat and not HGF :D

For what it's worth i think black on black would look
