Childrens Car Seats in an Elise

Post by Neil72 » Thu Nov 08, 2007 8:46 pm

Anyone got any experience of this ?

Pick my new car up on Saturday and the kids (7yo & 3yo) are nagging me to know if I can take them for a spin in it, and I can't give them an answer !

One is just a standard booster, one is like a booster with a detachable back part which the seatbelt feeds through.

Thanks :thumbsup

Recaro Start seems to be the weapon of choice as its one of the only ones narrow enough to fit the seats! If you do a search the subject has been covered a few times before!

Seloc has some car seat stuff on their wiki page.

The seat we have is meant to fit (maxi-cosi tobi i think its called) fine but being eliseless at the moment i cant confirm this.

Jeezo a quick google shows this up as being nearly 200 notes

I'll wait and see how it goes with their existing seats and take it from there.

I used a booster seat to take out my 6yr old niece , it fitted ok and she could see out the windows without any problems.

Likewise, i've taken my 6 year old out in mine with the little sit-on booster type seat and it fitted fine. Haven't tried a full booster seat with the back on it for our youngest.

went to mothercare armed with £200 they would not let me try any seats for my 2 yr old
recomended i ask lotus ,
moved onto argos they would not try any seats either the girl muttered how she had to get a honda one for her civic, she recomended i try lotus ,
moved on to halfauds picked what looked like a very compact chair their child seat fitting expert tried it but the base was too large he would not try any further seats saying as this was the smallest seat they do theres no point and recomended asking lotus

driving home went into a motor factors they had a booster seat and the same seat with a back to it ,asked if i could try them , yes no probs help yourself
the seat fitted fine but looked like it may slip forward in a impact
the same one fitted with the removable back rest fits snug almost perfect does not even move around empty without being fastened
although she is only just two she fits a treat maybe too good as she even falls asleep in it
best £30 i have spent on the car so far

I must be a bad parent..... they have boosters in the 'normal' car... and if I need to pick one of them up in the Lotus, then, they are small enough not to get spotted...

Isofix for when in family bus....Retract isofix and fits well in the roller skate.
