Clare called me from Uni to say that her car would not start, so I told her to call out the AA. He diagnosed a knackered battery, and also power steering noise from low fluid and asked her if she was any relation to David Duncan, Elise owner.

I had told her to drive to QuickFit but on hearing that I was her father, he said that they would rip her off, so he drove her to a shop, bought a battery for £27, went back to her Ka and fitted it and topped up the hydraulic fluid.

A classic "we dont make a drama out of a crisis", and old time AA service.
