Now that is rubbish! Where have you moved to? Long shot, but any cctv anywhere near by that might be covering the car park, esp if you were out by the road as the first picture shows....
Hopefully you will be able to get a quick fix.

That is shocking.
Strange splits in the clam, I think you are right about a van of some sort. What about the bin lorry?
Good luck with the repair.

Thanks guys.
No CCTV that I can see in the area and asked a few folk in the commercial premises opposite where it was parked and nobody saw anything. Tempted to drop a note into each office asking people to ask around, but it is a bit of a long shot. and no details left this time - reckon whoever did it either didn't notice

or they saw the damage, thought it looked expensive and disappeared quick smart.
Reckon it will be a new clam as all three bits of damage are clean through to the other side and there are loads of stress cracks across the back bumper. Most likely a delivery van doing a 3 point turn as the damage marks line up amost perfectly with a transit size van. Bottom two being top and bottom of the bumper and the top one being the rear door hinge, but it could be a bin lorry I suppose? Not sure whether they collect from there though as there are some big commercial waste bins at the other end of the road.
Dave - we've moved to Bernard Street in Leith and the car is parked round trhe back in Timberbush.
Seems like the only option is to get onto the insurance company, get them to agree to somewhere like Steve Walker to do the repair and stomach the increased premiums for the next 3-5 years!

Really gutted for you mate. Hope you get things sorted. You should be able to demand you're own choice of repairer, but the insurance company won't provide a courtesy car if you're doing that. Not sure if that bothers you though.
I just can't believe there are such @rseholes out there that would cause that amount of damage and not even leave a fecking note. Scum! I can appreciate that someone might not realise they've cracked one of our clams if it was just a wee gentle bump, but that's a fair whack!
This yet again makes me determined to buy a house with a driveway/garage so I don't have to park in a public area.

You might find that can be repaired - Steve Walker's in Bathgate is a good bet - if you can get it repaired, you might be wise to avoid insurance - maybe doesn't need to be 100% primo job - chances are you'll spade it again one day
Best of luck ...
Cheers,
Robin

No way would you not have noticed doing that....could've been something with bull-bars?

What ever are you suggesting Robin?? I think of myself as a pretty careful driver

If on the other hand you'd said that "Someone else is likely to spade it when it's parked somewhere....."
Might give Steve Walker a call tomorrow and send him some pictures before I speak to the insurance company and see what he thinks.
Dezzy - not too fussed about courtesy car as I don't need the car for work and we are currently running a diesel Mondeo (for sale soon!!) which will keep us mobile for now.
