The sub on my Exige (no sniggering) packed in last week and after much head scratching I gave Ali a call at SLS yesterday. He told me to bring the car up there and then and he'd have a look at it. 30 minutes later, the passenger seat was out, the back trim panel was off, the amp was removed and the wiring loom was being investigated. Ali found the problem which was causing the fuse to blow, put in a new earthing point and hey presto- fixed.

Big thumbs up :thumbsup to Ali for sorting an unusual and non lotus specific problem, within an hour.

meenrod...you're just the man.....

i have a sweet (looking) blaupunkt in the exige and the speakers fart a lot. however this "backup" copy of some genuine mp3s i burnt onto a CD plays beautifully pretty much as loud as i would want it....but other cds/radio it farts....

do i need an amp? how heavy? how easy? do i need stronger speakers therefore too?

Cheers bud :thumbsup

Mmm I would check your settings first.

It is possible to individually set up the tone for the differening inputs on your Blaupunkt. For example, if you're in 'Radio' mode and you adjust the bass, it will only effect the bass for radio. You'll need to put on a CD and adjust the settings seperately again for CD's and again for MP3's and again for digital radio.

Total pain in the arse but that could be the reason your MP3's sound OK and radio/cd is crap.

Try it before spending any dosh on an amp. If it doesn't work let me know.
