Neil, my last one was nosier (inside - gearbox whine), had a worse heater and leaked more than the elise.

Seen as you've other more sensible things to drive anyway)

Classic mini - do it :)

I piss myself laughing every time I get a 4 wheel drift on in my 850cc traveller (just about every corner worth mentioning), so a cooper is tempting me too.....

Buy mine ;)

It's not modded / lightened etc, but it doesn't leak and is pretty much guaranteed to start every time and being a late injection it doesn't have all the water+electrics problems of the older carb Mini.

I even have a pipercross airfilter hanging around that makes it sound -well ridiculous to be honest, noisy groaning spec ;)

Why not go up and enjoy the racing and sNOOP around the paddock afterwards waving a cheque book?
