All alone.........

Post by tut » Tue Oct 09, 2007 8:50 pm

The family plus boyfriends and girlfriends went off to Corfu yesterday for a two week holiday.

I have stayed behind with Thor, he has not got long to go now, but as I do not know when that will be, I want to be here with him.

Tis good to be self indulgent and independent for a few days, but not sure about two weeks. They can be a PITA but will probably miss them. However I got them a lovely Villa.

http://www.villaplus.com/corfu/code/vil ... &bedroom=5

Having a good tasting session of the different Islays/Laphroaigs that you buggers kindly bought me, and making the most of lying in an adjustable, electric, heated, massaging bed, whilst watching TV, surfing on a notebook, and reading EVO, until I am ready to go to sleep and wake up late, but missing the tea and breakfast in bed.

Weather has been crap, but will get N1 MOT'd this week, then insured and taxed, and N3 needs an MOT, so that will keep me busy. Just sent the ECU from the Audi TT for a remap, takes it from 225 to 270hp, and lots more torque, and shortly taking the Motability Focus down to Lesmahagow, where ever that is, for a re-map that takes it from 135 to 180hp, and 320 to 420Nm tq.

Other than that, I may just finally finish War and Peace tonight.

Absolutely........Laphroaig and Lagavulin being the favourites now, though Port Ellen used to be number 1, but the distillery closed down over 20 years ago.

Hmmm, I find those a bit toooooo smokey, but nice now and again. Talisker and Highland Park are lovely though 8) I'm a Speysider though so should really promote the local tipples! My folks live at Macallan (and I grew up there) so was partial to the odd dram of that but have really went off it latterly. Balvennie Double Wood however, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Ardbeg fan here 'Uigeadail' for preferance when I'm feeling flush
I spent a week on Islay and Jura in the summer cycling touring distileries and whisky tasting ~can't recomend the food @the Port Charlotte Hotel enough although you do need to book even to be sure of eating in the bar ~with a fantastic collection of single malts which never make it off the Islands

lucky swine!

Only problem I foresee is the lack of a decent pizza outlet in your vicinity... maybe not a bad thing, as it'll get your ar$e out of the chair and stop your joints from all seizing up

oh, and :cheers

I’ve heard a wee whisper that it might be brought back into production. Although it will be a few years until the good stuff starts to flow.

Word was, the TT chassis isn't much cop (it's a Mk4 Golf after all) so be careful how you use those extra 45 horses. The brakes and dampers might want some attention next. Could you bring it to KH before you do that and show us what a boat it really is?!
