I'm Skint

Post by Blaque » Tue Oct 09, 2007 10:17 am

Got a new debit card from the bank last month as the current one had split down the magnetic strip (as they tend to do in my wallet :? ).

New Card, New number.

Used it twice in the local garage.
Twice in seperate cash machines.
3 x high street shops.
4 x Online.
One of which was the DVLA for new tax disc.
Two were ebay/paypal. I don't think the seller gets the payment details.
The last was a retailer a lot of us have used to buy wiper blades

6 Easyjet flights and 2 lastminute.com bookings in Euros over 1st & 2nd of this month they had eaten right into my overdraft limit :x

Should be all back into my account by next week, and the bank was very good at sorting it out. But it's very worrying that someone can do that to you.

blaque, what kind of protection do you have on your PC? it's very easy to get stung by a key logger - it'll tell them everything they need to know to order stuff online.....

I use F-Secure internet security at home.
The other worrying thing is that one of the transactions was done at work which is behind a hardware firewall.

.....And....err......I'm in charge of that
