Scrotes...

Caught 2 scrotes (10-12 year olds) doing something around the Elise's a few mins ago.

"We was just looking at your car mister" when challenged form the window, then they scarpered, went and checked, my valve caps are gone (All of 99p) and the front tyre was flat.

Begs the question, why? I understand the nicking of the valve caps, they are shiney and they have boring black ones, but why let the tyre down? Don't give a toss about the valve caps, but not impressed at the tyre. In hindsight I should have left it and not shouted at them then I wouldn't be worried about it, but I couldn't just ignore it. (also I thought they were after the centre caps)

Called the local cop station for advice as it lives on the drive all day long. Apparently if they come back I can photograph anything else they do for evidence. Just worried that they will be back with some tools and I'll be accused of anything improper for photographing the little buggers....

Replaced with the boring black ones off my bike and the Porsche now.

Just had a knock at the door, 2 BiB and a jam sandwitch!

Went for a ride around the estate see if they were about. Nothing seen but reassuring that they bothered! Nice guys, interested in the cars, fed up with red tape and scrotes doing stuff like this!

that'll teach you to be a G.JOB with fancy valve caps. Next you will be seen only ever wearing a lotus jacket and lotus cap and using lotus toilet roll and only shagging in the lotus position.

You'll be glad to hear the plastic ones are 0.1 g lighter, unsprung weight too.

I thought the Lotus position was when you are adjusting the clutch pedal? I would ask how you shag in that position, but I don't think I want to know...

I just gone for the locking ones after loosing 2 sets already this year, and the car is hardly left on the street.

The speed they can disappear is astonishing

Just wondering if they're a good idea now- can see them getting stuck on, they're a fiddle and if they can't be got off some ned might be peed off and damage the car instead? Hmmmm

I'm going to stick with black placcy ones fomr now on I reckon, looks like anti theft ones are either stolen or get stuck!!

Yep, back to black plastic ones for me too now. Put on a set of plain yellow (non-locking) brass ones on Sunday. Thought they looked good on the anthracirte wheels with the yellow centre caps. Felt heavy in my hand and thought may affect the wheel balance but they were fine.

Took my 5 year old swimming that afternoon to Armadale and came out 1 hour later to find they had gone.

Like you Richard, not bothered about the cost but more pi$$ed off someone had been mooching around my car and taking things off it. Not keen on locking ones. If they didn’t take the caps not sure what else they would try and pinch/damage.

Top tip:
Metal ones can become siezed on... so give them a miss.
Black plastic are the way ahead; fit them on really tight, and give a final wee tighten with a pair of pliers,.. then carry pliers in the boot
