Harnesses

Post by Tim S » Sun Sep 09, 2007 5:44 pm

I'm going to take the plunge and get some harnesses fitted. Luke and Willans seem to be the main options. Anyone got any preferences towards or away from one or other??

(Will be fitting with standard S2 seats)

THanks

Tim

I have Willans harnesses and like them a lot. Make sure you get quick release shoulder straps which are a must IMHO.

They were a bit of an impulse buy and were expensive , given more time I would probably shop around and try a few.

I would also make a template for cutting the trim panel as I made a pigs ear of it.

Having sat in Alan's if you are tall don't do it. I was thinking about it but the harness bar means the seat doesn't go bakc quite as far as it did. No good for lanky twats like me.

I hate harnesses, absolutely hate them, so if you do decide to do it, make sure you can keep the standard seat belts aswell.

The seat doesnt go quite as far back as before, but i am 6'3" with long legs and i still fit.

If you must fit them, then i have schroths and they are fantastic. Expensive, but good.

I love mine. Luke, only problem being the lack of quick release, but you get used to it.

Buy the Sinclair's harness bar and AFAIK you won't have to cut any trim.
