Just looking out for you. You remind me of someone else with your background who moved to the back of beyond.

Remember to ensure they let off some steam if they come for you.

Hitting 24Mbps regularly now, rarely drops below 20. Unlimited Data between 2400 and 0600 is a real bonus for downloading HD content, El Kapitan, IOS 9 upgrades etc.

"Unlimited Data between 2400 and 0600 is a real bonus for downloading HD content,"

All this talk of high speeds (75 FFS!) but while speed is important, on demand netflix is paramount sadly the sat wouldn't suit my kids, I finally got into my broadband usage and so far this month we have used 180Gb and still time to go!! Ill just stick with my intermittent 2Mbps connection...

Then at the same time It seems myself and Charlen dont watch TV anymore. Most night I work till late (or do something productive, at least in my eyes) and when we do watch something its invariably Netflix, a Tv series or very occasionally IPlayer.

Craig,

Doing 180Gbyte/month on a 2mbit/s line is a good effort - that's about 1/3 of the line's theoretical maximum throughput (670gbyte/month). That's a lot of telly (8 hours/day, every day!!).

I was astonished to discover that Coll now has excellent 4G coverage (at least along the coast line) - I assume this is part of some highlands & islands network upgrade. Aberdeen obviously has 4G - I guess the outlying areas don't have it and won't get it?

Cheers,
Robin

Nah no 4G in our area, christ Im lucky to gt 3 half of the time.

To be fair its mostly around 3.5Meg to 4Meg and very occasionally at 5 however when we get bad weather it drops to 2 which is a PITA but otherwise its not a problem. Maybe when the kids are older and fighting for 3 different programmes but for now its fine. You can actually tell as Netflix adjusts the quality dependant on available speed and even then we watched a film a couple nights back we had to pause for 10 minutes before starting. The price you pay for living in the sticks.

I said to Charlene last night and she did not believe me so we looked into it and on the 12th Sept it said we used 18Gb. According to Charlene she was round at here parents so no way we could have used that, maybe needs me checking in more often.

That's a bummer so watch out for vampires. Should be over shortly to Maud so will give you a bell if you are at home. Not coming out with us for a curry on Friday?

Could you do me a favour and put the rear S1 wheel which should be lying by Jamie's car in the shed by the front of your Mobile. Just sold the other set of wheels to "captain", but I have three fronts and only one rear wheel and he is picking those up this afternoon. Alternative is if you could drop it off in Aberdeen for me when you go to work.

Do you have any pics of the house progress?

Cheers

No Pics mate, just imagine a house with no doors but painted walls. Ive told charlene she has to move in with a curtain for a bathroom door and she took it surprisingly well.

Ordering the second half of the kitchen tomorrow, I should have the bathroom finished this weekend so in three weeks we should be good to move in, only been a couple years in a caravan

It should be there, either went in Jamie's car when you took it away, or we put it in the back of yours.

Think that it has a T1R tyre on.

captain called around this afternoon to pick up his wheels and it turned out that he took out tooway Sat three years ago on a special unlimited Data one year deal.

They never changed it so he is still laughing.
