Election result - what does it mean for Scotland?
Re: Election result - what does it mean for Scotland?
Life goes on - the economic arguments seldom pan out, but the governments over the years have generally made progress. My standard of living has improved massively in my lifetime. My problem with the SNP is their intention to remove us from a system that works for no other reason than Nationalistic idealism. The history books suggest Nationalism just for the sake of Nationalism is not a pleasant process, and I'd rather not go there.

That it is too important to be decided by the so called "man in the street" when a very high percentage of them have no idea of the pros and cons.
At least most of the specimens we see on TV reality/benefit/etc shows will be too lazy, drunk, drugged, or incompetent to vote anyway, so there is a chance that it will be left to those with an IQ of at least double figures that will decide.

It is exactly the same thing, but on a bigger scale! I don't think it is a good idea.BiggestNizzy wrote:What's your thoughts on the EU referendum?
Without wanting to get too academic, Ernest Renan said that Nationalism is a 'daily referendum', where people are defined by what they jointly forget, as much as what they remember. Some decisions are best left to those that have a good balance of all the facts.
